Semi Dried Black Squid (Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis) is a value-added squid product supplied wholesale from Vietnam by Baseafood. With a controlled moisture level of 50–70%, the squid retains a soft, chewy texture and natural seafood sweetness while offering better storage stability than fresh squid. Available in sizes from 8–25 cm/pc, it is suitable for importers, distributors, retailers, restaurants and seafood snack processors.
Semi Dried Black Squid is made from Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis, a commercially important oceanic squid species found throughout tropical and subtropical waters.
Unlike fully dried squid, which has much of its moisture removed, semi-dried squid undergoes partial dehydration to maintain approximately 50–70% moisture. This gives the product a softer, more flexible and tender texture while concentrating its natural squid flavor.
The product is especially suitable for grilling, roasting, pan-frying and further seasoning, making it popular in Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Southeast Asian seafood markets.

Semi-dried squid retains considerably more moisture, giving it a softer, more flexible and tender texture. Fully dried squid has lower moisture and generally offers a firmer, chewier texture and more concentrated flavor.
Baseafood's Semi Dried Black Squid has a target moisture range of 50–70%, depending on the required specification.
Available sizes are 8–12 cm, 12–15 cm, 15–20 cm and 20–25 cm per piece.
Because it retains relatively high moisture, the product should be kept frozen at -18°C or below to maintain quality and food safety during long-term storage.
